Obama El Paso Visit to be Greeted with Protest

EL PASO - The Border Network for Human Rights plans to protest President Obama's border policy when he visits El Paso on Tuesday.

The president will visit with troops at Fort Bliss and thank them for their service.

Border Network Executive Director Fernando Garcia says, “President Obama promised change. The soldiers at Fort Bliss coming back from Iraq are seeing change under the Obama Administration. However, border communities are faced with the same misguided enforcement policies as ever, which include militarization, enforcement without oversight, violation of rights, and fiscal irresponsibility."

The Border Network plans to protest at 11 a.m. on Tuesday on Airway Boulevard between Montana and Boeing.
