North Dakota human rights group sponsoring two events

The North Dakota Human Rights Coalition annual Arc of Justice Award banquet will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at the North Dakota State University Alumni Center.

The featured speaker will be John Strand, who will talk about bullying and anti-bullying legislation. The Arc of Justice Award will be given to a North Dakota human rights activist.

Tickets for the banquet are $20 per person, and reservations will be accepted through Dec. 6 by e-mailing rsvp@ndhrc.org.

The NDHRC will sponsor a free workshop on bullying from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 11 in the NDSU Memorial Union.

Workshop participants will include Wendy Troop-Gordon, NDSU, Rep. Ed Gruchalla, North Dakota House of Representatives, Fargo attorney Patricia Monson, and school personnel and counselors who work with domestic violence victims.

The NDHRC annual meeting will follow the workshop at noon. A light lunch will be served.
