Human rights are all wrong

Frances Lawrence has been sacrificed at the altar of Tory political point-scoring.

The widow of murdered headmaster Philip Lawrence faces yet more despair because her husband's killer Learco Chindamo has not only been released early from prison but will not be deported back to his native Italy because of his "human rights".

But what about the "human rights" of Mrs Lawrence and her children? Before the election David Cameron described the Philip Lawrence case as "a glaring example of what is going wrong in our country. What about the rights of Mrs Lawrence?"

Yeah, what about them, David? The moment he tasted power, his election manifesto pledge to redraft the Human Rights Bill was binned as a sop to the Lib Dems.

Now Frances Lawrence is facing up to a lifetime haunted by her husband's killer because his "human rights" are considered more important than her own.
