Teenager to fight for human rights in South Africa

A Belper teenager is to travel to South Africa after volunteering to work in human rights.

Megan Baker, 18, will work with global volunteering organisation Projects Abroad in Cape Town for two weeks.

The St John’s Road resident will gain first-hand experience of human rights law.

“This is a big challenge for me personally,” said Megan. “I really hope my trip is a big success.”

Peter Slowe, Director of Projects Abroad, said, “We are really pleased Megan doing this. South Africa destination are looking forward very much to meeting her– and they definitely want her to bring some pictures of Belper with her.”
