Nigeria: Commission Trains Police On Human Rights

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has begun a nationwide training on human rights for police personnel, executive secretary of the commission, Professor Bem Angwe has said.

Angwe said the training is part of efforts by the commission and the police to proactively address the frequent incidents of human rights violations in police operations across the country.

He said the commission has developed a comprehensive training manual which will be used for training in police colleges all over the country.
