Syrian Human Rights Network Denounces US Sanctions
DAMASCUS, (SANA)-The Syrian Human Rights Network denounced the US sanctions and measures against Syria, stressing that they in fact target every Syrian citizen.
In a statement on Thursday, the network said the sanctions are a flagrant violation of human rights and international protocols and conventions, adding that they help incite sedition in Syria.
The network added that the US, and whoever follow its lead, only sees through the prism of its policy in the region, adding that the sanctions are better imposed on the US in light of its war on Iraq which the US turned into a war field that spared no one, not even women, men, children, not to mention its war in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The network wondered who is behind igniting sedition in Syria, finding it strange that the human rights organizations are silent over the practices of saboteurs in Syria.
The statement wondered about the silence of the UN Human Rights Council and the International Criminal Court over two separate statements by US President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, stating that the US can guarantee the return of calm to Syria provided that President Bashar al-Assad accepts the US policy in the region.
