Public Protector champions human rights

Public Protector Thuli Madonsela on Saturday said her office's role was to uphold human rights, particularly those of women.

She was speaking at the opening of the Khanya College women's centre in Johannesburg, which will be offering advisory services ranging from legal to health issues.

Madonsela also added that her office had a constitutional mandate to investigate complaints against all organs of State and it was open to all people in South Africa without exception.
